Atmosphere

Trail of Terror is located inside the Screams Halloween Theme Park (http://www.dfwhauntedhouses.com/viewarticle.php?articleid=177), so the same great atmosphere applies.

Set Design/Detail/Floor Plan

Infestation has taken over, and the evidence of it is everywhere. The best features at the Trail of Terror are not necessarily the highly detailed scenes, though. The focus here is in the theme flow and fitting environment expected for an infestation of mutated bugs. Everything you see effectively portrays the theme and story provided by the exterminator, and nothing seems 'out of place'.

Live Actors (Performance/Enthusiasm/Costumes)

The live actors are who make this haunt as good as it is. The large bug-men, excellent costuming, very cool masks, and effective use of props (clackers, puppets, tentacles, oh my!) keeps the creep factor high and the startles unpredictable. The building design allows the crew to work above you in the rafters, too. Action comes from all directions!

Admission Price vs. Length (Entertainment Value)

It is only $7 (not included in the admission to Screams) to walk through, and the unique experience is well worth the extra cash. Since you are already at Screams, you owe it to yourself to visit Trail of Terror.

Keep in mind that Trail of Terror is a completely separate attraction from Screams, so they do not get any share of Screams admission, and Screams also does not share the Trail of Terror admissions. Yes, that is what SEPARATE means.

Overall Experience/Summary/Misc. Information

We love the fact that the Trail of Terror changes themes every year, and they are always thoroughly consistent with the execution of their theme. The characters and creepy mutants all together make the experience golden. We highly recommend this haunt to everyone that visits Screams this year. It seems silly to me that anyone would go to Screams AND NOT stop by to see the Trail of Terror!
