Review Date: Friday, Oct 7 @ 11:30pm

The Dungeon of Doom is located in the basement of the Arlington Museum of Art, is sponsored by the Arlington Star Telegram, and donates proceeds to children's art programs. The Dungeon of Doom is the highest rated haunted house in the state of Texas for a reason. If you don't believe us, do your own research. You will find that all the reviewers agree that this is the haunt to see in the DFW Metroplex.

Scare Factor: 9 out of 10
If you pee your pants, be sure to tell owner Kay Kuser personally so you can have a ceremony dedicated to you and get another tally mark on the wall. Your scare begins before going through the doors. Once inside, you descend the stairs into the basement where you are greeted by a dark hooded man who will escort you into the haunt. Don't be fooled, he will not protect you at the entrance, as you still must pass the evils which lerk there (some patrons don't even make it that far). If you aren't scared yet, they will get you later. Keep close tabs on your soul as you walk through hell.

Set design / Props / FX: 9.5 out of 10
The Dungeon of Doom is a very uniquely designed haunted house. The City of Arlinton has made a high number of restrictions on the design, yet Dungeon of Doom still provide one of the best haunts because they make lemonade with those lemons. They have changed a number of scenes and added more, and I must say that they just keep getting better and better.

Live Actors: 10 out of 10
This is where the Dungeon of Doom shines brightest. We've said over and over again that live actors 'make or break' a haunted house. The Dungeon of Doom takes this into serious regard. These actors are some of the most entergetic, creative, and dedicated. Many of the actors at the Dungeon of Doom that have worked there for 15+ years and the experience shows. Even the NEW and "unexperienced" actors are the best in the business. Dungeon of Doom selects their actors so well, you can't even tell the difference between the first year actors and the expert staff. Some of the scenes in the Dungeon of Doom were created by the actors that inhabit those rooms. This gives the actors a sense of ownership of that room and that helps with their performances.

As a note of dedication, One particular actor is a perfect symbol of the Dungeon of Doom family. A couple weeks before opening, this actor had a serious accident and broke his neck in 4 different places. If you visited last year, you may remember him flopping along the stairs. All of the actors pulled together to develop a safe way for this actor to shine. Have you ever seen Saw? Did it scare you? Well, pay attention, that contraption is real.

Animatronics: N/A
Some haunted houses just do not need animatronic props... and the Dugeon of Doom is atop of that list. There are absolutly NO animatronics in this haunt. There is a live person operating the parts that some may THINK is pneumatic.

Length: 9 out of 10

Summary:
We have never given a 10 out of 10 because there are certain aspects that no one in the DFW area can touch on. Traveling out of the Metroplex is the only way to find a 10, but Dungeon of Doom brinks the closest to a 10 than anyone else. Their attention to detail, supurb actors, and absolute dedication makes this haunt a model for how haunts should be. If it weren't for the very strict rules that the City of Arlington places, this haunt would no doubt be an easy 10.
