Arlington, TX

Review Date: Saturday, September 30, 2006

Length: 8 - 10 Minutes

Location:
The Dungeon of Doom is located in the basement of the Arlington Musuem of Art off of Abram street and West in Arlington, Texas. Just look for the search light!

Atmosphere: 9.5 out of 10
Outside the haunted house looks like a museum, but once you start down the stairs, the art museum transforms into the dark haunted dungeon. While waiting in line to enter the Dungeon of Doom you are greeted with a couple vendors, roaming actors, and a clown on a unicycle juggling and making cool things out of balloons.

Scare Factor: 9.5 out of 10
Dungeon of Doom is one of the only haunted houses that will actually make veteran haunted house patrons jump on a fairly consistent basis. These guys really know what they are doing, and it shows consistently every year.

Set design / Props / FX / Animatronics: 9.5 out of 10
When going through the Dungeon of Doom most people just run through and don’t really take time to look at what they are seeing. The Dungeon of Doom is one of the most artistic haunted houses in design and layout in the area. This year the Dungeon of Doom has changed more rooms than they have any year before. These changes range from total room makeovers to subtle artistic designs and accents on the walls. To really enjoy the Dungeon of Doom is to take time and walk through, enjoy the surroundings, and recognize the detail throughout.

Live Actors: 10 out of 10
The actors in the Dungeon of Doom are the best of the best. They are very consistent in their performances, never break character, and make great use of the props around them. Actors’ costumes are above store bought quality and are all properly used in their surroundings. Most of the actors inside the dungeon have worked there for many many years and are allowed to design their own rooms. Many actors and take great pride in doing so and are very enthusiastic. This directly relates to their performances.

Entertainment Value: 10 out of 10
The Dungeon of Doom will take about 8 to 10 minutes to go through, granted you aren’t running through most of it like most people. Compared to a lot of places the Dungeon of Doom is priced very well at $12.00, but using our $2.00 off coupon the price is only $10.00. This makes the Dungeon of Doom well worth the price and gives good scores in the Entertainment Value category.

Summary:
The Dungeon of Doom is currently in their 18th year of operation. Throughout these 18 years the Dungeon of Doom has been very consistent in the quality of their haunt and performance. They have some of the most detailed scenes and best actors in the DFW area. Many actors inside the Dungeon of Doom have been acting at the haunted house for several years. The owners give artistic freedom to most of the actors by allowing them to design their own rooms. This seems to give the actors a sense of ownership and this really shows in their performances. Overall the Dungeon of Doom is an excellent haunted house. You get a great experience!

OVERALL SCORE: 9.5
