Date: Saturday, October 13th

Time: 11:00pm

Visibility/Location:
Don’t let the small front façade fool you… there is a lot hiding behind the face of the building. Lafitte's Landing is easy to find, just west of highway 78 on 544 (W. Kirby) in Wylie, you might notice the hearse out front with a coffin hanging out the back.

Parking:
There is paved free parking outside the haunt.

Atmosphere/Wait Entertainment: 9
If the small front lobby was swaying back and forth, you might think you just stepped on a pirate ship. Everyone is in character, including the beautiful lady selling tickets, which are actually golden coins (your ‘booty’). The walls are completely covered in wooden planks, even in the hallway and bathroom… before you even step inside the haunt you have several wenches to heckle you and small scenes to get you in the mood along the way... The atmosphere stays consistent from the time you walk through the front door until you walk the plank out the back.

Set Design/Detail/Floor Plan: 9
This place is truly ‘decked out’ from top to bottom to really portray the pirate ship theme. We love to see so much care and craftsmanship going into every part of a haunt. From fishnets, to barrels, to the pit… every section and scene holds you captive in the overall theme and does not let go until you make it outside at the end.

Live Actors/Performance/Enthusiasm/Costumes: 9
Everyone is in perfect character, all in great costume, and all with Hollywood worthy make up. You can tell that the actors really love what they do and are enjoying themselves and their characters thoroughly. This is a tight knit group of talented people, and their dedication to the haunt shines in their performances. It is quite possible that you will not see a single person break character until the make-up comes off and the haunt actually closes.

Admission Price vs. Length Entertainment Value: 9

Overall Experience/Summary:
Lafitte's Landing is over all a very fun place to visit. If you enjoy themed events like renaissance festivals, you will definitely enjoy this, too. Even if you don’t like renaissance festivals, still give this place a try. You get the taste of a pirate ship plus a few scares of a haunted house. You might even leave with a bit of a new accent, because it is mighty contagious after hearing everyone talking like that. ARRRRRRGH!
