OVERALL SCORE - 8.5

Date: Saturday, October 6th

Time: 8:00 PM

Visibility/Location:
Tayman Graveyard is located almost directly off of highway 67 and the Shiloh Rd. exit. Several small unlit signs run along highway 67 and direct you to the parking area for Tayman Graveyard.

Parking:
Parking at Tayman Graveyard is free and located in a fenced in location. A free hayride takes you from the parking area up to the gates of Tayman Graveyard.

Atmosphere/Wait Entertainment: 9
The atmosphere around Tayman Graveyard is fairly eerie and makes for a great haunted house location. Tayman Graveyard is located on the old Adamsville Terror Complex grounds where the classic Tayman Manor once stood before a devastating fire burned it down. Characters from inside of the Tayman Manor and Tayman Funeral Home often sneak out of their hiding spots and torture unsuspecting guests.

Set Design/Detail/Floor Plan: 8.5
Tayman Graveyard consists of 3 individual haunted attractions… The Haunted Mineshaft, Tayman Funeral Home, and Tayman Haunted Hayride. The entrance into the Haunted Mineshaft is actually the old front of the Tayman Manor which was burned down many years ago. While the décor and scenes inside the Haunted Mineshaft are minimal, the flickering lights and industrial fan give the feeling that you are actually climbing through an old mineshaft. Tayman Graveyard has been completely redone for the 2007 season and the graveyard is now an integral part of the haunted attractions. Tombstones line the walkways and the B. Stiff Casket Company in full swing cranking out new coffins for those that are dying to get into the Graveyard. Tayman Funeral home has also undergone several new additions with a couple new and unique scare tactics tossed in. Unfortunately the tractor that hauls the Tayman Haunted Hayride was inoperable during the time of our review and we were unable to see the hayride. However, with that being said… last year the Tayman Haunted Hayride was the best hayride that our review staff has ever had the pleasure of riding.

Live Actors Performance/Enthusiasm/Costumes: 8
Being a haunted attraction that is run by the Boy Scouts of America you need to expect that many of the actors inside the haunt are younger in age. However, do not let this discourage you from visiting Tayman Graveyard… Several of the younger actors really enjoy what they are doing and really get into character. Several of the best and most memorable actors are also the fathers and scout masters of troop 202.

Crowd Control :
Since Tayman Graveyard is one of the lesser known haunted houses in the DFW area they are able to keep group sizes small. Don’t expect them to stay small for much longer…

Additional Attractions : 8.5
Tayman Graveyard consists of 3 attractions… The Haunted Mineshaft, Tayman Funeral Home, and Tayman Haunted Hayride. While the main haunt is Tayman Funeral home I find that I enjoyed the other attraction just as much as their main haunt. Unfortunately the hayride was inoperable during our review… We have been told that the hayride will be operable this weekend. We will be making a special trip out to Tayman in the future to check out the hayride… It was an excellent attraction last year and we are hoping the same for this year.

Admission Price vs. Length Entertainment Value: 9
Tayman Graveyard is moderately priced at $25.00 for all 3 attractions. Tayman Funeral home took approximately 17-20 minutes and cost $12.00 while Tayman Haunted Mineshaft & Graveyard took about 10 minutes for a cost of $6.00. Both haunts are definitely worth their own price, but taking advantage of the $5.00 off coupon you can see all 3 haunts for only $20.00 which is a great price for all 3 haunts.

Overall Experience/Summary:
While Tayman Graveyard is run by the Boy Scouts of America, don’t let it fool you. Tayman Graveyard is a very worthy addition to the haunted house industry in the DFW area. They have several unique scenes and unique scares that no other place in the metroplex. While many of the younger actors have slight timing issues (these should get better as the season matures) the older actors were spot on cue, entertaining, and caused our experienced group to jump several times. It is very unfortunate that we were unable to see the Tayman Haunted Hayride as we were really talking up the hayride to our guest reviewer for the evening. Tayman graveyard is a 3rd year professional haunt and this is the second year that DFWHauntedHouses.com has been to Tayman Graveyard… So far they have not ceased to disappoint us. We have seen constant improvement in their show and actors… As this haunt begins to enter maturity you can expect them to become one of the better haunts in the DFW area.
