Hatch and Kraven's Slaughterhouse - Sherman, TX

Hatch and Kraven's Slaughterhouse

Sherman, TX

Review Date: Saturday, October 17th 2009

Time: 11:30pm

Atmosphere

You can easily spend hours just watching the roaming actors interacting with the crowd. Waiting in line should not be boring by any stretch of the means. Vendors and concessions are available on site, so take your time and enjoy the environment.

Set Design/Detail/Floor Plan

Hatch and Kraven's has some very well designed scenes and tactics throughout, but let's face it – You go to Hatch and Kraven's Slaughterhouse for the amazing actors! Don't get me wrong, the scenes are great too, but the live interaction far outweighs the scene details, because the actors make up the most memorable part of the experience!

Live Actors (Performance/Enthusiasm/Costumes)

The Hatch and Kraven's Slaughterhouse acting crew is by far the best in the DFW metroplex. The first scene should give you the best first impression of all, because you will be forced to listen and show respect… and I bet it is impossible to make this lady break character.

Management at Hatch and Kraven's Slaughterhouse should seriously consider having haunt actor workshops during off season, and start sharing the wealth of training abilities with the rest of the haunt industry. We hear them say every year that they have brand new actors (although key characters remain each year, too) but no one would be able to tell. The owners and actor trainers at H&K's have something special happening in order to have such a hugely entertaining, energetic, and talented staff.

You could go through the haunt several times and get a different show each time. Improvisation, quick movement, and tons of interaction remains consistent. I did not see a single scene where there were less than 3 actors, and in many scenes, you had 5 or more people haunting you. The way the staff works with the crowd and with each other is just amazing!

Admission Price vs. Length (Entertainment Value)

For a single haunt attraction, the $15 ticket is extremely affordable for the amount of entertainment you receive. Everyone should see how amazing this staff is for themselves. Use the $1 off coupon for even bigger savings!

Overall Experience/Summary/Misc. Information

I just could not stop smiling! I don't scare easily, but if I am smiling, it is a good sign.

Hatch and Kraven's has plenty of room to expand, too… if they add more attractions, keep the quality acting standards high, and perfect the scene details in all attractions, Hatch and Kraven's could easily become one of the best shows in DFW.
